Bumper 2012 Vintage Expected - Stocktake Sale of Vineyard Red

We’ve just returned from a lovely week at Barambah and are very pleased with the outlook for the 2012 vintage – although we felt the same last year and the flood rains ruined our entire crop!

Our winemaker, Peter Scudamore-Smith MW, comments below on the outlook for this summer’s vintage and highlights the development of some of our recent wines about which he is excited.

“Spring has been unusually cool, cloudy and mild, with the odd misty morning. The vines have flowered well with above average crop; all is green, growing rapidly and well.In the cellar, the Classic (Semillon-Verdelho-Sauvignon Blanc) continues to grab the attention of restaurants for its dry raciness.
The 2010 First Grid Shiraz has just been bottled, looking exceptionally well and will be released after further cellaring later in the year.”

Vineyard and Cellar Door Manager, Nick Pesudovs, is most encouraged by how the season is shaping and the recovery in visitors after the horror floods and their aftermath. He is recommending a special stocktake sale in anticipation of this year’s bumper crop.
